A beautiful memory

A lady that saw Rich and I skate at the 1975 Nationals, sent us this note shortly after we won a medal. I am so happy that our skating made people happy!

Very nicely written piece about the physical and emotional dedication involved in becoming a successful ice dancing pair.

So sad that it also involved the pain of abuse as well.

Hi, Deborah Sue Macsalka here, Doreen Denny’s daughter. Wow, I was a baby when all this was happening. I have fond memories of the years at the old Broadmoor World Arena, and all the talent that inhabited it during those years. I found this site searching for all the beautiful people that have been a major part of my moms extraordinary past. I would love to have a celebration in behalf of my very loving and talented "mumsy," whom I feel is so deserving of recognition with all that she accomplished. I will be trying to contact some I.S.U members as well to see what I can put together. Please let me know if you are interested in being a guest in honoring her as well as all who were involved in her success. I hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes, Deb Macsalka
